5. Let go of pride, selfishness, anger and grudge.
6. Stop blaming others for your condition and become responsible for yourself!
7. Control yourself. Don't allow anyone to provoke you and mind your own business.
8. Adopt humility, sharing and caring for others, over self gratification.
9. Seek redemption and refuge.
10. Show remorse for your sins.
11. Exhibit the above with sincerity and conviction.
12. You have your own problems; stop having loyalty to others before having loyalty to your loved ones.
13. Seek out righteous and progressive minded friends. Stay clear of trouble makers.
14. Take advantage of every opportunity to learn and gain credibility.
15. Honor, respect and love those that love you. Those that have loved you the longest are the most important.
16. Your friends are not the ones that agree with you when you're wrong, they are the ones that love you enough to tell you the truth.

Prodigal Is Not Really A Good Name 

But prodigal is a sufficient name to describe us at this time; because confession is good for the soul. We can say that we are the Prodigal Sons and Daughters because we bear witness that we (as the Bible Prodigal Sons) was Lost, Blind and Dead, and we're only using the name to make our confession clear to everyone. We are not so quick or foolish as to call ourselves righteous, but it is certainly our goal to get there, since we've already tasted unrighteousness.

My Name is Dennis Porter and I AM A PRODIGAL SON! 

My state prison number is 62468.          

I served a total of 18 years in the New Jersey Prison system.

I was 17 years old when I was arrested and later convicted of murder.

I was sentenced to 30 years to Life.

I had no prior criminal history.   

However, at this time my story isn't as important as yours.

YOU MAY ASK, "How can a lost prodigal son or daughters undo the negative image that has made them untrustworthy and a social outcast in the sight of others?"

The answer is simple. The Prodigal Son and Daughter must come to terms with where their actions have lead them and accept responsibility. Then, there must be a determination to demonstrate their desire to be forgiven.

You now ask,"To whom am I making this confession and asking for forgiveness?" The answer is, everyone!

Why?  Because it is the first step at creating a new self and disowning the old ignorant self.  The old ignorant self is not only the reason why you're in your present condition, but is keeping you in that condition.

What have you to prove to this life and this world? In the end, what has it gotten you? You do not have to remain in your present state...you can be reborn into a new world with a new existence.

Once the Prodigal Son condemned the old self, he was free to disown it.

As long as you uphold and justify the old self, then you become a slave and victim of it's consequences.

NO ONE CAN HOLD YOU to the old self, you are holding yourself; pride, stubbornness, arrogance, shame are all enemies to your progress.

In order to escape the hell of this world, your heart must be redeemed.
